Thank you so much for your email. It’s been fantastic to listen from you again. I feel really sorry for not being there when you come. However, I can give you some advice of where to go.

In Barcelona there’re lots of places to visit. The most visited ones are: the Rambles which ends in the Columbus tower, The F.C. Barcelona Stadium, the Sagrada Familia, the Parc Güell, and other Gaudí’s buildings placed in Passeig de Gràcia. If you want to have some fun with your parents you can go to Tibidabo which is a great theme park in Barcelona or go to the Skating Club, which is in Roger de Flor Street, 168. The weather forecast those days will be variable. Your holidays will start with low temperatures that will increase during your stay here in Barcelona. Nevertheless, there aren’t any precipitations predicted. So bring both cold and warm clothes and there’s no need to bring any umbrella.

In Barcelona there are some good shopping centres such as La Maquinista, L’illa or Diagonal Mar, but for me they’re really crowded places and it’s annoying to buy there. I think that the best place for shopping is El Corte Inglés which you will be able to find it in Plaça Catalunya. There you can buy everything you want.

In Barcelona there are a lot of places to eat. My favourites are situated in El Mercat de la Boqueria in Les Rambles. There you can eat pizza, there is a really famous kind of restaurant called “El Quim de la Boqueria” where you can eat either fish or meat as well and, if you want to eat really good meat, you can go to El Asador de Aranda situated in Tibidabo Avenue, although it’s a bit expensive. Try to avoid the restaurants situated near the Major Square and near the beach because there, the quality is really poor and moreover the prices are high. They only try to get tourists and take benefit of their ignorance.

Hi Paul

I am sorry too I am not going to be there to see all of you. To make up for the situation I will recommend some places you ought to go, places I have enjoyed a lot. First you have to go to the Railway Station “Monguilthy”. It is awesome; there are a lot of paintings and amazing drawings made by the best cartoonists. Other places to see are the Centre Park were you can find the most strange plants in the world, from geraniums to Macrozamia Moorei, an Australian tree, the Catholic Church, the Cinema Museum, etc. I assure you that you will not be bored during the week you are going to stay in my village.

Don’t worry about the weather. Although is 1.500 meters above sea level during this time of year it is not very cold. Tell your mum that can be reassured about it. Well, if you want you can bring a jacket for the night walks.

There are a lot of shops in the mall. There you can find clothes, CDs, books and things like that. Moreover the price is lower than in the city. For example, the books, as you know, my favorite entertainment, cost less than 10 Euros, while in the city some cost even more than 20.

Finally, if you don’t want to cook a lot, you can eat out. Along the large promenade there are more than 20 restaurants and bars. Prices vary widely. There are menus from 5 Euros up to 30, for special occasions.

Thank you for your email, it was great to finally hear from you again. I'm happy to help you with any questiones you have about would you can do and see during your stay.

Its great that your staying in London because there are so many things to do! If you like seeing museums you could go to the National British Museum in Russell Street, they always have great exibitiones. There are also many markets that are interesting to visit.

Since it is late January the weather is quite bad im afraid. It tends to rain a lot so you should bring an umbrella o a rain jacket and you should also bring many layers of clothing because the temperature goes down in the evening.

As for shopping, oxford street is the perfect place. There's plenty of high street fashion shops like Topshop, New look, H&M, RiverIsland etc. If your looking for bookshops you should go to Waterstones you can find everything there.

I know you love Italian resturants so I recommend you go to Pizza Express, it's cheap but good. If you want to spend a bit more you could go to House of Rome.

Hi Paul,

I was very happy to read your e-mail and I’m really sorry for not being here when you come. However, even if I can’t show you around, I can still give you many ideas of things to do and places to go to.

Firstly, there are many interesting places you have to visit. There’s this great theme park called Port Aventura, with fantastic attractions that I’m sure your whole family will enjoy. Also there’s a great science museum named Cosmo Caixa, which can be amusing to visit and where large families like yours get a cash discount. Finally, I strongly recommend you to visit all the Gaudi Art: the Sagrada Familia, the Casa Batlló and the Parc Guell. If you want to get more information about these places and about the public transports, you can check up this website: http://www.barcelonaturisme.com.

About the weather, this time of the year is usually not very cold, but the weather forecast says that the temperatures are going to descend during the following two weeks. For this reason, I suggest that you take thick coats just in case, because winter can be very humid in here.

As for the shopping, there’s a great place called La Maquinista. There you will find anything: from sports and entertaining stores to clothes and gift shops. However, I recommend you to go there first thing in the morning because at midday it can get really crowded.

And finally, regarding to restaurants, my suggestion is Plaza Cataluña. There you will find lots of good restaurants, yet you should avoid the Burger King because the queue is always so long that it can take you hours, and the food is nothing special.

Hi Paul

I'm glad to know that you're coming soon to Spain. Unfortunately, as my mum said to your parents, during these days I will be in Ibiza with some friends. Nevertheless, I'm planning to visit you this summer. That week that you will be in Barcelona, although I'm not going to be there, I can give you some ideas to do and places to go. For example, you can go to the harbor or visit some places like the cathedral and the city center basically.

These days the weather isn't so good but I have seen that during the days that you'll come is gonna be sunny and you don't have to worry about the temperatures because you're used to the cold.

If you want to go shopping you can go to any comercial center like Diagonal Mar, La Maquinista, l'Illa, Maremàgnum... But if you want to go shopping and enjoy the city too the perfect place to go is the city center (Catalonia square, Portal de l'Àngel and Passeig de Gràcia).
There's some restaurants that I'm used to go and I think that you will like. They are located in places that are easy to find, you can search it on the internet. Some of these restaurants are El Asador de Aranda, El Mussol and la Bella Napoli.
