(In a stormy night in a day as today, 4 young people were walking through a dark leafy forest. When accidentally one of them visualized some sort of haunted house.)

Anabel: -Hey boys look at that, it seems to be a haunted house.

Miky: -I think we could enter and investigate, It could be funny!

Isaac: -I don’t think so boys! It could be dangerous!

Alfonso: -Come on Isaac, I’m sure it will be interesting and we will enjoy the time.

(After discussing, they finally enter at the house…)

Isaac: -Hey guys, I continue thinking that this is not a good idea!

The boys walked around the house, touching, listening, seeing things… When one of them saw a think that stand among all the others, it was a very old and with a lot of dust and cobwebs. It was opened…

Miky: -Hey look what I’ve found! It’s an old book!

Anabel: -Let me see it please

(She reviews some pages)

Alfonso: -What is about it?

Anabel: -There are instructions for creating potions, spells and fantastic creatures such as ghosts and dragons.

Miky: -I want to try it and create a ghost!

Alfonso: -Me to, let me see… frog legs, wolf hair, owl eyes, crow's feather, and some children blood

Miky: -And where are we supposed to find all that?

Anabel: -Mmmm…over that shelf I think there are different things… Yes, here we have all that staff!

Isaac: guys, this is very strange, we shouldn’t

(Alfonso is reading)

Alfonso: -In a huge pot add some water…

Miky: -Here it is, next step!

Alfonso: -To be add in this order: wolf hair…

Anabel: I have it!

Alfonso: -…Frog legs…

Anabel: Just done it!

Alfonso: And you can add at the same time frog legs and crow’s feather.

Miky: Just finish, anything else?

Alfonso: Here it said we need few blood drops..

(All of them look to Isaac)

Isaac: No no no! I won’t!!!

Anabel, Miky, Alfonso: Come on, please!

Isaac: Oh my god! It’s ok…

(The did a little cut to Isaac and dropped some blood. After stiring few minutes..)

The 4 guys: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

(All of a sudden they disappeared.)

(Along the years, people who have gone near that house have heart voices and moreover some others have seen human shadows when nobody was there; and as the legend tells, if they touch someone, it will turn into another ghost…)

NARRATOR:
Sit down and listen you all. This is the scariest story you’ll be ever told. Why is it so frightening? Because is complete and absolutely real!
It started a few months after Bin Ladens death, when his corpse was found on the Pacific Coast of the USA. The ones who went there to get it were all killed. No one dared to guess why.
After that, many murders were committed, all of them in strange situations.
And it was because of him. We though he was dead… but he’s not, he has returned. He is…
Zombinladen jumps over narrator and two actors bring a big cardboard where the word ZOMBINLADEN is written.
After that, Cindy and Johnny walk, holding their hands.

CINDY:
Oh, Johnny. I’m so scared since the murders started.

JOHNNY:
Don’t worry Cindy, you’re safe with me, Johnny Rambo.
Strange noises. Cindy hugs Johnny.
CINDY:
What was that?
JOHNNY
It must have been an animal or something like that, don’t be afraid.
Strange noises again
CINDY
That’s not an animal! Hello? Is anybody out there?
ZOMBINLADEN
ROARR, LALALALALALA
JOHNNY
Facing the monster
Who are you (karate position) Get lost if you don’t want to be in trouble.
ZOMBINLADEN
ME WANT YOUR BRAINS
CINDY
Oh, no! It’s Zombinladen
ZOMBINLADEN
COME HERE, YOU AMERICAN CHILDREN! YOUR BRAINS ARE MINE!

Cindy and Johnny hug each other
JOHNNY
Cindy, save yourself. I’ll fight this evil monster.

CINDY
But Johnny! It is too dangerous. He’ll kill you! I love you Johnny, I don’t want you to die.
JOHNNY
Don’t worry babe. I am Johnny Rambo and I am a man. A strong man.
Zombinladen growls again. Johnny screams and runs away but he falls down.
JOHNNY
Oh, my legs! I don’t feel them! Cindy, please Cindy, help me.
CINDY
Are you serious? You’ve just tried to escape and you haven’t hesitated to let me die. (zombinladen touches her shoulder) Wait a second I am talking! How can you be so mean? I though you loved me, Johnny. (zombinladen touches her shoulder again) I’ve told you to wait! (She realizes her situation and starts to scream)
ZOMBINLADEN
GIVE YOUR BRAIN
CINDY
No, please, please, please, please. Let me go, I’m a good girl. Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please (she starts to get really annoying)
JOHNNY
Oh, please, kill her!
ZOMBINLADEN
NO BRAIN. SHE BLONDE.
CINDY
Ey!
Zombinladen goes for Johnny.
JOHNNY
Someone, please, help me!
Zombinladen growls painfully and, all of a sudden, falls on the floor.
RUSSIAN MAN
Are you alright? (talks to a walkie talkie) We got him, he’s down.
NARRATOR appears, covered in blood.
NARRATOR
And this is how it ended. Nothing is what it seems. Dead might not be dead at all.
ZOMBINLADEN stands up and goes for the actors. Again, someone gets another cardboard with the “THE END” message.

There are many kinds of relationships. Friendship, love, family… in this case I'm going to talk about someone with whom I've lived for many years. He’s my brother. As all the brothers, we had have occasional fights, but we also lived fun times.
He's 14 years old. He's more than a year smaller younger than me. His name is Alejandro, and we have studied in the same school since kindergarten.
He's thin. He has blond, straight and short hair whith a very big cowlick. His nose is very small and he has some freckles on his face. His teeth are big and white
He's friendly and sporty. He was until last year in the Europa football team, but he had to leave because of a serious leg ingury. He's also a good studient and he has a good sense of humor.
It's a very important person in my live, because we lived a lifetime together and has allways been there

People are important for being happy in the life. I am totally sure that all the people that I have met have friends, but how do you define friend? A friend it is a company that always is with you in the good and in the bad moments.

My best friend, called Mario, it is sixteen years old. He plays football and it he is a really good player. We have known met a lot of years ago in vilassar de mar I think, but this is a really important question? I think that the most important for being a friend it is that you have to be his shadow and vice-versa.

He has short brown hair, he is not a tall man and he have has a green or brown eyes it depens of the day. He has a very good qualyties, one of them it is that he is a very funny person and this is a very good virtue.

He is one of the most important person for me beacuse it he is always with me and beacuse it is the responsible person that makes me fun and happy. He did for me a lot of things that any person have already never did it done yet, may be some people but few of them.

You constantly repeat the subject!!!! be careful!!!!

"Everything good grows little by little." The best histories begin in a curious way and are constructed slowly to reinforce the relation. With her, was like this.

I met her in the Airport of Lanzarote two years ago. She is a pretty Colombian girl, who lives in London now a days. Sara is healthy and sporty, loves cycling. She has a brown long hair, huge dark eyes which with her pale skin stand out, but in Summer, at the darkness you never would find her, in this season suntan. She is 1’60 (a little big person), and always have been slim but fitted.

She is two years older than me, but we always have had the same tastes and opinions. She normally is cautious but some other days wants to eat up the world ! She is very talkative, open-minded and trustworthy.

Sara probably is the most happy person that I have known at the moment. She is an essencial support for me. I feel lucky of having found someone that gift me so many happiness and also can listen to me when I need it. With our students' life we meet every 3 months normally, but it doesn’t suppose a problem.

She’s one of few people that matters for me nowadays, she made me learn a lot things I think, and I value very much her friendship.

"Although all is gone, real friends will be always there”, and what happens if he used to live with you? And what happens if he is your brother? Yes, that's my case. One of my best friends and more important people of my live is my brother.

He's ten years older than me, but he has been always near me and has helped me in everything, even though he has been living for 6 years in Lleida and nowadays lives in Vitoria.

He's quite tall, a meter and eighty-five cms. more or less and he's fit. He has jet black hair but his skin it's white as the snow. His eyes are filmy green and his lips have a regular shape.

He's very very sporty, and as me, he loves playing football. I thought that he was very vague, but in those years he has shown us that he's a very hard-working person. He is very kind with everybody and he loves children.

I think that I do not realize how lucky I am to have this person near. Definitly he has been the person who has influenced me more.

There's people who you don't consider as a friend but, somehow, are really important for you. You might neither have the same age nor the same tastes, but you feel great with that person.

That's the case of my Art's teacher, Araceli. She's forty-three and she teaches Art with her husband in their academy. She's also a great artist but she doesn't use to exhibit her own paintings.

She is a gorgeus woman and she looks younger than she is. Her her and her eyes are black as coal and her skin is quite dark too. She is really tall and slim and uses to wear glasses an casual clothes.

Araceli is one of the most creative and happy women I know. I'm sure she loves her work because she likes being with young people and she's really patient (far more patient than we, her students). She always encourages us to do our best and to try new techniques.

I believe she's a really important person in my life because she's taugh me many things and, even though we are not "friends", I love her a lot. Our heart is such a big place for only family and friends.

In life people say that a person next to you is important. I agree with them. It can be a friend, sister, brother, boyfriend or friend with benefits, as you wish to say.

In my case, I have Laia, a close friend of mine. I don't know her so much, for say that is my best friend, but with the pass of the time I can say. With her I feel good and she accepts me as I am. We met, last year in an England trip. From that moment I can count with her for everything. She is 17 and is from Mata la Pera a village in Barcelona.

She is very pretty girl, she has long, straight, brown hair and brown eyes to. She is a little bit taller than me. She wears all types of clothes.

Laia is very especial for me, because she has things that I don't and the other way round. Because of that we complement each other very well. She is a little embarrassing person, by the way, when you speak with her and she starts to grab confidence she is not. I really know.

I think that in life, people found a really special person. Provably that person is not the final one, but for knows that you have to let you know.

Professional footballers earn too much money. What do you think?

Publicado  Friday, May 20, 2011

Daily Mirror has recently announced that Manchester City could offer Cristiano Ronaldo more than 200.000.000 € to sign him up in their team. What could be done with this amount of money? It is obvious that too many charitable things such as donating money to non-governmental organizations, buying clothes, food and medicines for the Third World…

I consider a big lack of respect that, with the existing hunger and sick people around the world, somebody can accept to earn this huge amount of money for just playing football. Most of them haven’t work hard in their lives. They have only received the gift of having good skills playing soccer, and it is not fair that, for example, a student with a degree in the university had been studying for at least 17 years, working hard and with a lot of effort and sacrifice to earn only the money enough to survive. I find it extremely unfair.

However, I have to admit that between these players, there are some humble ones who do donate money to good proposals. An example is Iker Casillas who every year collaborates with an organization which fights against malaria. We don’t have to confuse these ones with others who only appear in these charities acts to advertise themselves and give a fake image about them. They should learn from humble football players and submit to this world some kind of humility, something unusual around the World.

Hi,

I’m addressing you because I’ve been given a brochure in the Underground about the concert that takes place the day after tomorrow in the Fairfield festival, Manchester. However, before booking, I wanted to ask you some questions.

Firstly, we are planning to attend 5 students, so could you tell me the total price for weekend tickets including booking fees and students discount? Furthermore, I wanted to ask you if there are some other offers for us.

In second place, we are interested in the camping you offer. However, we are only planning to stay one night on Saturday; does it have the same cost as if we stay both nights? Moreover, could you let me know if, between the camping facilities, there are either toilets or shower rooms?

And last but not least, taking into account that the concert begins next Saturday and only two days remaining, post won’t be able to get Spain. Are we able to pick the tickets up in the Festival ticket office, if anyone? If not, could you tell me where we could get them?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Hello,

I’m writing to you because I’ve read the flyer about the concert hold at the Fairfield Festival. Some friends and I might be interested in coming, however we would like to ask some questions about the conditions.

First of all, we wondered what the total prize of five tickets including fees and student discounts would be. About the camping, we were asking ourselves whether it included facilities such as toilets and shower rooms, and if the £10 price covered one night or the whole weekend. Finally, as we are aware that it is a last-minute decision and there are only two days left for the concert, we wondered if we could collect the tickets somewhere in order to have them on time.

I would be very thankful if you could answer me as soon as possible.

Best regards,

Aloma.

Hello,

I've saw your flyer about the concert for this saturday and the prices with the acommodation there. I've to say that with that information, I still have some gaps in my mind, so I hope you can answer me some questions.

Firstly, I'm interested on the ticket prices. We are five people, all of us are students, and we have a discount on that price. Could you tell me how much costs in total the tickets with their discount, as the panphlet says? If it's possible I would like to know how much are the booking fees.

I also want to know the price of just one night for staying on the camping and If with that price we can use all the facilities that you have, If there are.
Another doubt that I have is if there are showers and toilets, and whether there are, If they are public.

As we have only two days to go and that's not time enough for having the tickets, it's possible that you send me the tickets or there's any place where we can collect them here in Barcelona?

Regards.

Hello,

I have just made a last-minute decision to go to the concert with some friends of mine. It looks really good but I don't see some things very clear. It would be great if you could clarify them for me.

For example, could you tell me how much cost five tickets for students, which have discount? You did mention that there was discount for students as we are but I can't find the final price anywhere. It would be great if you tell me a price.

I have another questions about the camping. It is written in the pamphlet: camping available 10 pounds per head; but is this only for one night? And could you let me know if there are some toilets and showers room out there? I would like to know some other facilities that are available at the camping too.

All my friends and I live far from the city where is taking place the concert so we don't have enough time to take the tickets there. Is there any other way to take the tickets? Could you tell me other ways to get the tickets, like ServiCaixa?

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello,

I'm writing to you because I have just seen your fairfield's advertisment and I'm interested in going to the rock concerts on the 7th and 8th of July. I have a few questiones about a couple of things before I decide to book the tickets.

Firstly, it would be great if you could tell me how much it would cost for 5 students to atend the concert including the booking fees. I would also like to know how much VIP tickets would cost and to whom are they available to.

Secondly, could you tell me how much it is to stay only the saturday night at the campsite. I was also wondering if there are any special facilities at the site, such as showers or toilets.

Finally, I would like to know if instead of recieving the tickets by post there is another possible way to get them. As there are only two days left till the concert there isn't enough time to post them to me, so maybe via internet would be the most suitable way.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Ninis or freaks: who's got the world in his hands?

Publicado  Thursday, April 14, 2011

Nowadays, the work among the youth is one of the biggest concerns of our society. Everyone can tell there’s a problem with unemployment and demotivation, however not so many people dare looking for the causes of it and searching for a solution.

To begin with, we could consider that the main cause lays on the new generation Nini, which would neither study, nor work. Leaving apart the unsustainability of this way of living, it’s also important to wonder if a person can really be satisfied with his/her life while doing nothing. Such a life may end up pretty tiring and boring. Nevertheless, the real problem lays on the demotivation of the youth: they simply can’t see the point of studying or working. Some consider it unnecessary, others are too lazy to try and the bright majority have no interest on it.

On the other hand, there’s a portion of the youth which most of the time lays forgotten or hidden: the fighters, the ones that haven’t given up. It’s not true that the whole youth nowadays is lost and has surrendered, that’s just what they want us to believe. Most probably this is the one thing that keeps us in this situation: if we think that everything is lost, no one is going to fight for a change.

In the end, it doesn’t really matter whether you’re considered a Nini, a freak or a surrendered, if you are able to believe in yourself and keep your faith in the change, believe me, the world is in your hands.

Ninis or Freaks: who's got the world in their hands?

Publicado

Ninis and freaks, two very different manners, almost opposite could be said. The first ones neither study nor work, nor have the intention to do it. The second ones, on the contrary, are those specifically interested, and sometimes even obsessed, with topics such as computer science, science-fiction, videogames or fantasy. This obsession makes them to have a lot of knowledge on what they truly like.

Nowadays, in our society, Ninis are proliferating at a great pace and they are now becoming a very large group. Maybe, it is for this fact that they may think that over time, if this group is the majority, they will own the world. However, I'm afraid people who think like that are mistaken. Though they are numerous, their knowledge and skills are zero, so they don’t know how to do anything. It is for that reason that without freaks and other workers who make things correctly and take part in the humanity progress and development, Ninis are unable to survive.

Do we want Ninis to win the battle? We have to avoid them from taking advantage of people who dedicate their lives to work. They don’t deserve this recognition. We all have to make society see that Ninis are harmful for future generations. Work leads to success and progress as laziness leads to failure.

NiNis or freaks: who's got the world in their hands?

Publicado

Brilliant minds shine through the mediocracy of today's society. It's not the quantity that counts but the quality. Although there is only a small percentage of freaks in today's society, their intelligence is a powerful tool, no match for others such as NiNis, enabling them to dominate the world.

Freaks, those who have knowledge of today's technology, contribute to the world's growth and wealth with new inventions like computer software that enables us to develop and increase our standard of living. They control the capitalist system.

Whereas NiNis, those who decide not to study or work, represent a large amount of the world's population, but don't contribute to it's development. They are like deadweight, more of a burden than anything else because they dont enrich our society.

Therefore, the freaks clearly have the world in their hands because they form part of it. They are able to shape the world from within.

Freaks VS Ninis : who's got the world in their hands?

Publicado

If you walk on the street you can see many kinds of people, but two popular are freaks and ninis. If we talk about ninis, we can say that they are the most common. They often are people who do nothing, most of them are teenagers that expend all the day in the street with other ninis, almost, some of them spend the day in their house on the sofa or in other place doing nothing productive. But if we talk about freaks, we can said that are radicaly different, they spend all the day doing productive stuff and exploring the things they are interesting off. Freaks dont comunicated with a lot of people, they are always in their planet, thinking about other things, the people they are habituated to speak are freaks too.

As we can see every day, it is obvious that are more ninis than freaks, I think that it is like that because people are so lazy. But, freaks are more productive for the society, so they got the world on their hands. Because one person who does something wins among a lot of people who do nothing. Freaks can do whatever they want, they have curiosity, and they want to discover new things.

In conclusion I would say, that I prefer freaks, It is obvious that is not right to be in the extrem of anywhere. So is not good to be a nini for all your live, and too, it is not good to be a freak, and obsess with a thing.

Nowadays, we, people, do not accept different persons, and when we see someone is different we get away of they, I think is because it, people are not more in contact with freaks, and is because it, they still in their houses investigating without show their face to the world.
-Adults, if we are you, I will be afraid if your future are in the hands of ninis.
-Teenagers, we will frightened if we have to compete with freaks.

NINIS OR FREAKS: who's got the world in their hands?

Publicado

Nowadays the society is full of those people called "NiNis"who don't work and don't study. They just live their lifes without caring about nothing and simply are maintained by their parents. On the contrary, there's a minority of people that we call freaks and they are obsessed with the new technologies and all those things related with the progress. But... who's got the world in their hands? The most logical answer is that the freaks have the world in their hands because of the inventions and the proximity with the science that is necessary for the future. But as I said, those people are a minority in the society. So, they really have the world in their hands?

It's supposed that the future generations will have what the society of nowadays make. If NiNis are the image of the young society it means that the world is in theirs hands and if this fact increases more, with the pass of the time, all those things that the previous generations made with effort will not serve for nothing.

I think that society must do a big change and search for alternatives like motivating the teenagers or change the students plan. The parents should mentalize their children since they're young too, If we want a future based on the progress for the next generations.

NINIS OR FREAKS: who's got the world in their hands?

Publicado

NiNis and freaks are radically different but have a common characteristic: they are the most predominating positions in our society. The first consists on doing nothing. Sleeping all the day, not studying... Doing whatever they want, without helping the society. In the other hand we have the freaks. They are very weird. All the day in a closed room in front of the screen of a computer. But at least they try to investigate and create new things.

Offhand I would say that the freaks have the world in their hands. People might think why, but for example, who developed "Google"? A freak. Yes, It was Bill Gates. But he is a freak. A great freak, of course. Who invented "Apple"? Another freak. Meanwhile they are trying to originate something promising for the world, the other position, NiNis, aren't doing anything. At least the freaks contribute to the society to create a better and easier technologized world.

To conclude I want to say that both postures aren't very recommended. If you are a NiNi, people with a job would laugh at you, and if you are a freak, every person in the world would criticize you and mock of you, unless you gain a good reputation.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your previous e-mail and for letting me stay at your house. Yes, I'd be delighted to go the activity centre, perhaps we could even go skating and have an Ice cream!

By the way, its great to hear that the staff organize biking expeditions, for I'm sure that many riders will take in consideration taking the activity not just for cycling, but for getting to know people. Though, I don't have a mountain bike, so maybe you could lend me your brothers, if he doesn't mind mind, of course.

On Saturday evening, instead of going outside and getting even more tired, we could stay at home and rest, maybe even watch a film and cook for your family. Now, I'm afraid that my parents wont be able bring me to your house until Saturday morning, since I have a family dinner of Friday.

Well, I hope that you reply as soon as possible, and see you soon,

Ricky.

Thank you so much for your email. It’s been fantastic to listen from you again. I’m waiting anxiously for this weekend. Of course we should go to this activity centre; we’re going to enjoy it a lot for sure!

About which activity we should go, I’d choose go cycling rather than sailing or climbing. We could go into the hills, enjoy the nature surrounding us and finally, ascend until that incredible viewpoint. There we could gaze at the fantastic view of the entire valley. A lot of really good pictures have been taken from that place!

I agree with you and I think that we’re going to be really tired on Saturday evening so we should stay in and play and sing some songs with the guitar and the piano. Moreover you could show me your brand new song!

I’m really excited too about my visit. I’m really sorry but, unluckily, my parents can’t bring me on Friday evening. It’s my mum’s birthday and we’re going out to celebrate it. However she has told me that, if you want, you can come out with us!

I’m eager to see you,

Hi Alex,

It's great to hear from you again! How are you? I can't wait to come visit you, and explore the new activity center. We're going to have so much fun!

I would prefer to go sailing rather than do rock climbing because I'm afraid of heights. I also just enjoy it more, sailing in the shining sun, feeling the wind blowing in my face and the beautiful views, it just sounds great!

Since we're going to be exhausted after our busy weekend I think we should stay at home and maybe watch a movie with some popcorn. If we feel up to it we could even go to the cinema. I've heard that a new film has come out, 500 days of heaven, a comedy, something we both like.

Unfortunately my parents can't bring me to your house on Friday afternoon because they have an important meeting. Maybe I could stay an extra day so we have more time to catch up on things.

I'm excited to see you,

Best wishes

Hi, Alex!

I’ve just read your email, thanks a lot. I’m very excited too about this weekend at your house! I think that going to that activity centre is a brilliant idea; it can definitely be a great fun!

Regarding which activity to take, I would rather go sailing than climbing or mountain biking. It’s not that I don’t like these other sports, but I think that spending the whole day at the river can be much more amusing and enjoyable. Moreover, the town river is really beautiful so we can gaze at the natural surroundings and take great pictures there. Besides, I don’t feel like going mountain biking after the accident we suffered last time, remember?

As for Sunday, considering that we will probably be a little tired –as you very well said–, I was thinking that we could go on a light excursion to the mountains. We may take some sandwiches with us and have a picnic up there while we enjoy the views of the town.

Coming on Friday evening would certainly be an excellent idea, but I’m afraid it’s not possible as I’m attending my music lessons at that time. However, I promise you we will take the maximum advantage of the time we have!

See you soon,

Dear Alex,

Thank you for your letter. I am looking forward to see you again! It will be a pleasure to visit you this weekend and to try the experience of going to an activity centre.

I like so much climbing, but I prefer to go sailing on the river looking at the scenery and enjoying the nature. We can have a good time taking a stroll and learning new things.

I also think that we will be tired after this day. Being at home will be the best option. We should take photos, listen to music or whatever we want to do in the moment.

I am also anxious to visit you. I have asked my parents to bring me there of Friday evening, but they cannot because they are working untill 22:00h. I am sorry.

See you on Saturday!

Hi Alex!

It's great to hear from you. I'm anxious for visiting you this weekend and obviously we can go to the new activity centre. I think that this is a good idea because we can spend a funny time and taking advantage of the occasion, you can meet people that probably live near to your house.

The idea of doing a sport activity is fantastic. Personally, I prefer go sailing because this is something that doesn't tire you too much and with this hot wheather I would like to do some aquatic activity. I would like to know what's your opinion about that, because if you disagree we can search for other activities.

On Saturday evening instead of being in your house, we can go to the house of one of your friends because it has happened a long time since I saw them. I suggest that then we can go to some park and make a photo session.

I'm really sorry but my parents won't be able to bring me to your house on friday evening because they are in Oviedo now and they'll come on friday night.

I phone you on saturday!
See you soon!
Anna

Hi Alex, I've been waiting more than three days for this feedback, but it's ok. You might have been very busy. Yes, I think it's a great idea to go to the new activity centre near your house. You know that I love extreme activities, and moreover, is closer to your house, so why not going!

I don't mind what activity we choose. The important thing is to be together and try to get a lot of fun. But if you let me choose... I prefer going climbing rather than sailing or go mountain biking. At school, if you don't remember, I used to be the best climber among all the class. Try to beat me know!

No please, don't say that you want to stay at home watching a terror movie while we are eating popcorn. For God sake, one time I can visit you, let's do funny things. Do you want to go to Max Museum in St. Peters Avenue? Or to the Bowling?

My parents can't bring me on Friday. I have a lot of things to do. On Friday evening I have a football mach. We are playing against Disabled F.C, the first in the league, so I can't miss the match. And then, after the match, I must go the school with my parents, because the headmaster is going to talk about the next year, and it's obligatory to assist.

See you on Saturday.

-The three activities you have suggest me are really good, but I don't like climbing, remember that I have acrophobia. The sailing on the river it's so fantastic, but I practice yesterday with my dad, so I prefer go mountain biking with a group. I think it could be really interesting 'cause we can see the landscape and we are in contac with the nature, also we can meet new friends.

- Well, on Saturday, If you want, we can stay in your house and watch films, there's one pretty god that I want to see since last year, we can ask for pizzas and then explain so many things! I've to explain you a lot of things! and I think you have to explain me also.

-I'm so sorry but my parents can't leave me in your house on friday evening because it's the birthday of my grandmother and all the family is going to a dinner. It's a sorprise we want to do to my grandmother, because she is going to turn 100 years old. So we're going to meet on Saturday morning. I hope you'll waiting me too ansious. Move to a foreign country

Publicado  Sunday, February 20, 2011

Thinking of the option about moving to a foreign country is something to study quietly. A lot of people move permanently to a foreign country and some other have this idea in mind because of many reasons. But, do they really now all the advantages and disadvantages?

First of all, talking about advantages, it must be taken to account the fact of living there and getting a job. Living in a foreign country can be funny and you can always remind it as an experience. It’s something new, different, and you can also make new friends. You can start a new live trying to change some customs you didn’t like or simply changing whatever you wanted to change. It’s a good opportunity to start over and an advantage of this is that nobody knows you. Secondly, about the fact of getting a job, an advantage can be that if in the country you come from there is another language, you have a plus for your curriculum that probably not all of the native people of the foreign country have. As well as that point, another advantage could be that you can have more experience in some things related to your hometown.

Moreover, speaking about disadvantages, I think there are also many factors to discuss. First, although you can have more experience in some ways, it’s not easy to enter in job. There are many people in the country that probably would be accepted before. Also, in terms of social life, although you establish new relations, it is difficult to make new friends. If you go with your family, it may not be so hard to do even though you leave many friends in your country, but if you go alone it can be really complicated.

Finally, my conclusion is that beside the advantages and disadvantages it may have, many of them have to do with the personality of each person. In an active and sociable person with spirit of doing things and that don’t get affected by the opinion of the others it will be easy. Also in people that want to experiment an adventure it would be easy I think. But people who really get affected by the opinion of others and are not very independent it will be harder. Personally, I think it would be a great experience but at the same time it would make me very hard and I think I would feel a bit alone sometimes. I think I would miss very much my hometown and everything that is in there. I would move to a foreign country if I could bring everything that is here with me.

Advantages and disadvantages of moving abroad

Publicado  Wednesday, February 16, 2011

Crisis, finding job, or simply because of restarting your life can be the main causes that originate people moving to a foreign country. For years it has been really common but, as everything, it has its rewards and challenges.

There can certainly be some real advantages to moving to a foreign country. First of all, you can move because of the weather. Rainy days constantly may not be really enjoyable. As well as that, there are other countries where you could have more possibilities of finding a job and earning more money, so if that means that you are going to live better and you are going to have more opportunities to success, it is something positive. Finally, the way of life of some countries and it cost might offer you to save more money and improve your life quality. It will be a good opportunity to coexist with other cultures and learn more about them.

On the other hand, moving to a foreign country has some drawbacks too. Firstly, you can miss your family and your past. If you have been living during twenty, thirty or more years somewhere, it will not be easy to leave it all behind. On top of that, you may have difficulties to adapt to the new manners and to the native people. Last but not least, you may have difficulties to learn the native language, for example if you move to Russia, or to an Asian country, it will be difficult to learn their languages.

So all in all, moving abroad is probably a good thing. If you are looking for new experiences, new opportunities, new challenges, moving abroad is what you are looking for. The possibility of knowing about other cultures, of meeting different people that may think in a different way or simply the fact of starting a new life are not going to make you regret anything. During your life you will have worse and better moments but, bad moments are only to make good ones better.

Cons and pros of moving to a foreign country

Publicado  Tuesday, February 15, 2011

Nowadays it is very common, especially among the youth, to move permanently to a foreign country. The vast majority of “movers” change country in order to find work, or because they are offered a better job than they had. However, this decision, usually taken too lightly, has its cons and its pros.

On one hand, moving to another country has many good aspects. To begin with, it is a very good opportunity to learn from another culture and get to know different people. Moreover, in a multicultural world as the one we are living in, it is useful to travel and discover different ways of life. But above all, moving to a foreign country is a challenge that brings new experiences and opportunities both in the professional and social field.

On the other hand, there are also some disadvantages that should be taken into account. In the first place, the adaptation can be hard, especially when moving to countries with very different culture. Learning the language might also be difficult if the destination is not an English-speaking land. Finally, in some countries it may be tricky to get the nationality, a reason that holds many people back, when considering to move.

Having a look at those advantages and disadvantages, I believe that moving to a foreign country is a very good opportunity for those who are looking for a new way of life. I strongly recommend it to any open-minded and daring person: I’m sure the experience will be worth it!

A life changing decision

Publicado

Everyone enjoys a change, a new look, a new car, or maybe even a new life style! It is becoming more and more frequent for people to move to a foreign country.

A new start is always welcoming. Moving to another country means being able to change your life for the better. For instance, earning a higher income can enable you to have a higher standard of life. Another reason for moving could be the weather, having to put up with grey days can be difficult and a tropical breeze is usually more tempting.

Although there are also downfalls to moving abroad. Having to leave your friends and family behind is hard and so is learning a new language. On top of this getting used to a new culture is difficult and you can feel disoriented at the being, it can even be stressful.

Overall from a personal experience I think moving to a foreign country is a life time experience.
I can guarantee you that there will bad times, but getting the chance to learn the ways of a new culture and its people is so gratifying that problems that don't make you weaker will only make you stronger!

Sil school concert

Publicado  Monday, February 14, 2011

Introduction

This report analyses the different varieties of venues for the school concert held on the 26th of March 2010. Out of the various possibilities I have reduced the options to two.

Outdoor performance

We could consider holding the event outdoors, in the playground area. This location can accommodate a large number of people and since it will be late spring the weather will be perfect. The only downfall is that the sound quality will be quite poor.

The Auditorium

The main hall would be a great option for the concert considering that it is located indoors where there is a greater sound quality. There is also a stage which will improve the performance. Sadly there is not as much space as there is outdoors.

Conclusion

Overall I think the auditorium would be the appropriate venue for the school concert. It is the most well-equipped space for this type of show.

SCHOOL CONCERT

Publicado

INTRODUCTION

I have recently talked with the band, called Blue Day, and we have planned everything except the place where the concert it is going to be celebrated. We thought about different venues, but we have narrowed the list into two.

1st OPTION

On the one hand we have the main hall, where are usually celebrated all the important meetings. It is quite big and there is a lot of space but we could mess it. The drink of some students, or teachers, could end up lying on the floor, and that could be a problem because every day teachers have meetings with parents, so that mean that after the party we will have to clean intensely the hall.

2nd OPTION

On the second hand, there is the theatre. It is smaller than the main hall but there, we could move and celebrate the party without the feeling that we are messing all. Moreover, there is a soundboard so someone could play music without having to bring an MP3 or IPod.

CONCLUSION

Finally, I would like to say that we, the band and me, don't mind where it is going to be, but Tom, the guitarist, says that it could be better in the theatre because of the sounds. There, we have the soundboard, and the guitar will sound amazingly.

Subject: School concert

Introduction

This report deals into the different venues for organising the concert for the school. After discussing them, we have narrowed the list down to two options.

1st option: SIL Auditorium

On one hand, we could organise the concert in the school auditorium. It would be free, that is to say, that we won’t have to pay any rent for it, so the entrance will be free. However it has not got a lot of capacity, and the sound quality and the lights effects are quite limited.

2nd option: BeCool local

On the other hand, we have the possibility of renting this local. It is situated in Joan Llongueras plaza, near Hospital Clinic, so this means that everyone can get there easily. It is much bigger than the school auditorium and, moreover it is prepared for concerts, so that means that the sound quality, effects and all that staff it is going to be better than the school. In spite of this, as we have to rent it, and the price is around 500 €, we will have to sell tickets (5 € each) for entering there, so it won’t be free.

Conclusion

After considering the options, I would recommend holding the concert in the BeCool local. Although we have to pay, I consider it the best option because the concert quality will be fantastic and it is going to be enjoyed a lot by everybody. Moreover 5 € it is not really expensive and as we expect more than 100 concertgoers, we will have enough money to rent it and, furthermore we are going to be able to donate the extra founds earned to the school. I think that this option is the ideal one.

Introduction

After discussing the posible places where we can do the concert to celebrate the carnival party, the whole band have thought about two places.

Auditorium

The first place where we have thought about is the auditorium. There is a capacity for all the ESO students. The only problem is that it is not in the open-air and probably the music will sound bad.

Playground

The other option is to play on the playground. This would be better because is in the open-air and there's no limit of capacity. For the first reason, the sound will be better and we have looked for any disadvantage but at first sight we don't find nothing.

Conclusion

We think that the most appropiate place is the playground because this year carnival is later than other years, so the weather will be good for staying outside. Finally, we can collect money with a ticket for the entrance that can cost two euros per person.

School Concert
Introduction
I have discuss with the band that it is going to play in the concert, and we have two options that the most viable and logic.

Theatre
The theatre is a good place, because there is a cabin with a mixer where you can plug all the instruments for the band, but there is no space for all and without space, there are fewer benefits

The red court
The red court can welcome more people, but there are some disadvantages, the weather it is not precisely an advantage, and the sound from the music may be distorted. Moreover, some people have rejected this idea of playing in the red court.

Conclusion
In my opinion the best option is the theatre because we can solve the idea of the space, the mixer will be an extra help for them and we all can listen the music from there. It is said that in Saturday will rain, and it will not be a good idea playing in the red court

Hi David!

Thank you so much for your email. It’s been fantastic to listen from you again. I feel really sorry for not being there when you come. However, I can give you some advice of where to go.

In Barcelona there’re lots of places to visit. The most visited ones are: the Rambles which ends in the Columbus tower, The F.C. Barcelona Stadium, the Sagrada Familia, the Parc Güell, and other Gaudí’s buildings placed in Passeig de Gràcia. If you want to have some fun with your parents you can go to Tibidabo which is a great theme park in Barcelona or go to the Skating Club, which is in Roger de Flor Street, 168. For more information you can visit http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/.

The weather forecast those days will be variable. Your holidays will start with low temperatures that will increase during your stay here in Barcelona. Nevertheless, there aren’t any precipitations predicted. So bring both cold and warm clothes and there’s no need to bring any umbrella.

In Barcelona there are some good shopping centres such as La Maquinista, L’illa or Diagonal Mar, but for me they’re really crowded places and it’s annoying to buy there. I think that the best place for shopping is El Corte Inglés which you will be able to find it in Plaça Catalunya. There you can buy everything you want.

In Barcelona there are a lot of places to eat. My favourites are situated in El Mercat de la Boqueria in Les Rambles. There you can eat pizza, there is a really famous kind of restaurant called “El Quim de la Boqueria” where you can eat either fish or meat as well and, if you want to eat really good meat, you can go to El Asador de Aranda situated in Tibidabo Avenue, although it’s a bit expensive. Try to avoid the restaurants situated near the Major Square and near the beach because there, the quality is really poor and moreover the prices are high. They only try to get tourists and take benefit of their ignorance.

I hope you find useful my information and I desire you to have a fantastic time here in Barcelona. And you know: if you need something else you only have to call me!

Best wishes,

Danny

Hi Paul

I am sorry too I am not going to be there to see all of you. To make up for the situation I will recommend some places you ought to go, places I have enjoyed a lot. First you have to go to the Railway Station “Monguilthy”. It is awesome; there are a lot of paintings and amazing drawings made by the best cartoonists. Other places to see are the Centre Park were you can find the most strange plants in the world, from geraniums to Macrozamia Moorei, an Australian tree, the Catholic Church, the Cinema Museum, etc. I assure you that you will not be bored during the week you are going to stay in my village.

Don’t worry about the weather. Although is 1.500 meters above sea level during this time of year it is not very cold. Tell your mum that can be reassured about it. Well, if you want you can bring a jacket for the night walks.

There are a lot of shops in the mall. There you can find clothes, CDs, books and things like that. Moreover the price is lower than in the city. For example, the books, as you know, my favorite entertainment, cost less than 10 Euros, while in the city some cost even more than 20.

Finally, if you don’t want to cook a lot, you can eat out. Along the large promenade there are more than 20 restaurants and bars. Prices vary widely. There are menus from 5 Euros up to 30, for special occasions.

All the best

Joan de la Torre
